How much clothing are we consuming ?

Australia is the second highest consumer of textiles per person in the world, after the United States of America.

Each Australian consumes an average of 27 kilograms of new clothing per year and disposes an average 23 kilograms of clothing to landfill each year, or 93 per cent of the textile waste we generate.

There is nothing wrong with buying clothing.. but we need to consider brands with a sustainable purpose and brands choosing sustainable methods when it comes to producing products and a circular economy

Brands should not only encourage us to buy there products but educate us on where it’s come from and what we need to do with the clothing at the end of its life.

We’re slowly moving into a circular economy.

So what are your favourite brands doing to minimize land fill.
